The Brain Training Center kicks off phase 2 of Just Breathe WV initiative

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Monday kicks off week two of the The Brain Training Center’s Just Breathe WV initiative. During phase two of the initiative, everyone is encouraged to use meditation and yoga to help cope with anxiety and stress amid the pandemic. The Brain Training Center will be providing tips, tools, apps and zoom links to free yoga classes on all of their social media platforms and its website. “We’re trying to teach people how to use very natural and resourceful ways of mediating their anxiety and stress about the new normal, the pandemic and about quarantine fatigue. So we are using meditation and yoga to try to reach those goals this week,” said Dr. Kristy Dumas.

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – As people everywhere are dealing with stress and anxiety from the coronavirus crisis, mental health is an important aspect of the Brain Training Center’s Just Breathe WV initiative.

The JustBreatheWV initiative is a four-week campaign led by Brain Traning Center and Dumas Psychology Collective in Beckley, West Virginia. The intention is to help the community deal with stress and anxiety of COVID-19 as the community begins to phase open.

“So we are rolling out this initiative in phases. Phase number one is all about the teachers. It is helping our teachers adjust to school return, helping them medicate their anxiety about a new academic normal, so we are offering free therapy sessions and free neuron sessions to all educators in our area,” said Dr. Kristi Dumas.
